Courtrepointe Quebec Best in Show from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

For a minute, I thought I might not have internet. But refreshed the page, and here I am!

So the show's first day is over, and it was a lot of fun. I managed to chat with the customers in French, and I'm getting decent at it! We were out last night and told the fabric cutter (wait for that story) that we were from Ontario, and she told me my French was excellent!

I went for a walk in the morning along the river and snapped a couple of pictures. But first, it's bizarre to walk ...

Unpacking from retreat from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- a much better sleep last night. I HATE those sleepless nights - like what a waste of time!

I spent most of yesterday attempting to unpack the bags I took to the retreat. I wanted to ensure that I actioned what needed to be done and not just put it back, where it would be useless for the next retreat or to finish it. Slow and steady -- that's my motto.

Well, I never found a picture of the car when Dede and I were packed, but I found one I took after I packed my HALF of the vehicle ...

Me and my machines from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What a whirlwind day! I got so much done, and I had three machines going simultaneously! I actually worked later than I had planned, and I HATE when I do that because if I don't get my 8 hours of sleep, I'm tired, and it takes me a while to get moving. Note to self: DO NOT miss that bedtime hour - it's bad news for the next day!

The day didn't get off to a productive start, as I was on the phone until lunchtime! That was NOT in the plan, but it was all good ...

Who will you call? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What a super productive day! I put my headphones on and listened away to that book about a world without ANY modern conveniences and sewed and pressed and cut. And this is what happened.

The status of Farmer's Wife

Yep -- I got over half of the top together, and I love it!! The photo does not do justice to the richness of these fabrics. It's amazing what can happen when you are totally distracted from the process of sewing! Thankfully, the battery died in the headphones when they did. The subject matter of that book is very challenging ...

With a little help from my friends from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We had a great mini Sit n Sew yesterday. However, at one point during the day, I noticed that I got three e-mails in a row indicating that my reservation for the spin class next Wednesday had changed. I thought that was weird as it's never happened before. I went from bike number 11 to 25 (which I hate that bike because it wobbles - I had it last week), then to 41 and finally to 57. What's going on?

After the others left, I realized that the class size for gyms in Ontario had been reduced to a ...

It's a good day!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I just don't do well with lack of sleep. I had TWO naps yesterday. The first was in the gazebo and lasted a couple of hours. At about 4 PM, the gazebo gets sun, and at about that same time, the lounger on the deck is now in the shade, so my second nap was there. I had a great sleep last night, and I'm ME today! Not Miss Grumpy Pants!

Since I was in the gazebo a bit earlier than usual, I had to turn my chair. It's so protected by trees - it really is a ...

Travel Day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was an interesting travel day. Actually leading up to the day was interesting. Should I go? Should I stay? I'm not one to get too freaked out by this kind of stuff, but it always makes you wonder.

In the process of finalizing plans, I did have to change my flights and I ended up in seat 14B. Yep - the plane was full and I ended up in the middle seat. Well, we'll just have to deal with that when we get there. Then I noticed that I was in Zone 5 for boarding the plane which ...

North Star Show n Tell - The Narwhale from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

AH -- I'm back. I had a great night's sleep even though I had a wee nap around dinner time. Let's hope that I'm back in my time zone.

I thought I had better get some of those edited pictures up for you to have a peek at.

I'm going to start with the homework from the North Star quilt by Elizabeth Hartman.

This is one of our ongoing classes at The Hobby Horse. There are nine blocks in total and the last block will be assigned at the next class at the end of this ...
